Ingredients:
MornChef Steamed Puttu podi – 2 Cup, Salt – ¼ TeaSpoon, Water ¾ Cup or 1 Cup (as required), Grated Coconut – 1 Cup.
Preparation:
Add MornChef Steamed Puttu podi and salt to a large bowl and mix them well with a spoon. Once the mixing is done add water in batches and crumbles the mixture with your fingertips; this is done to mix the moisture evenly and avoid lumps in your puttu. Make a moist flour with a crumbly texture that holds a shape when pressed a handful inside your fist and must break down on further pressing. You can also use a blender to avoid lumps. Now add 2 tablespoons of grated coconut into a puttu steamer (Puttu Maker) followed by 3 tablespoons of puttu mixture, repeat the process and top the mixture with 2 tablespoons of grated coconut and close the lid. Leave it for 5 minutes, you will find the steam escaping from the top of puttu-kutti, that’s an indication of well-cooked puttu. Carefully separate the puttu-kutti from the puttu-kudam and push the puttu using a wooden ladle from the back. Finally, you have the perfect shaped nutritious puttu that you can enjoy with Kadala Curry or anything you crave.
